RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SUPPORT <br /> OF <br /> THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> FOR <br /> NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br /> TO REVIEW ABANDONMENT AND CLOSURE <br /> OF <br /> A PORTION OF STATE ROAD NUMBER 1818 <br /> ALSO KNOWN AS PLACID ROAD <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina State Road 1818 in Cabarrus County is known as Placid <br /> Road,being a paved road approximately.71 mile(s) in length, a portion of Placid Road,bound on <br /> both sides by property owned by Jesse McKnight (c/o Myrtle McKnight) & Frank Fleming Jr, <br /> needs to be abandoned by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT); and <br /> WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus is requesting <br /> that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated on the attached map, be <br /> abandoned from the Secondary Road System; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners is of the opinion that the above described road <br /> should be abandoned from the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and <br /> criteria established by the Division of Highways of the Department of <br /> Transportation and Highway Safety for the abandonment of roads from the System. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the <br /> County of Cabarrus that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to review the above <br /> described road and to cease maintenance of same road if it meets established standards and criteria. <br /> Adopted this 17th day of January, 2017. <br /> Stephen M.
