CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> 1792 <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> MARCH 20, 2017 <br /> 6:30 P.M. <br /> AGENDA CATEGORY: <br /> Recognitions and Presentations <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> EMS - Service Award Recognition <br /> BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> Cabarrus County EMS is announcing the recognition of two employees for <br /> their service excellence in 2016. They will be recognized at the March <br /> 2017 EMS Divisional Meetings. Annually, Cabarrus County EMS <br /> recognizes top performing full time and part time staff through a system of <br /> peer nomination and leadership team approval. The Star of Life Award is <br /> presented to a part time team member who demonstrates great <br /> commitment to the service in the areas of system involvement, work hours <br /> and professionalism. The EMS Service Award is presented to a top <br /> performing full time team member whose efforts have served to advance <br /> the level of care, system reputation and community awareness. <br /> The 2016 Star of Life Award recipient is Chris Goenner. He has been <br /> employed with Cabarrus County EMS since April 23, 2007 in the capacity <br /> of Paramedic and has worked well over 1000 hours in the past year. He <br /> holds a Bachelor of Science from Western Carolina University and is <br /> currently enrolled in a Master's of Science program. He completed his <br /> paramedic training at Rowan Cabarrus Community College and currently <br /> holds credentials as a North Carolina Paramedic, National Registered <br /> Paramedic, CPR Instructor, Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor, <br /> SMAT III Instructor, International Trauma Life Support Instructor, Level II <br /> EMS Instructor and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor. He has <br /> been extremely active in community education and recruiting EMS <br /> providers for Cabarrus County. He has served on many peer driven <br /> workgroups within the system, conducted public relations events and <br /> C-3 Page 42 <br />
