CABARRUS COUNTY - CURRENT MEMBERSHIP <br /> Cabarrus County has four(4) members on the twenty-four(24)member Centralina Workforce Development <br /> Board(WDB). The Cabarrus County Commissioners will select and approve nominations for WDB members <br /> based on the slate of nominations presented by the appropriate agencies and organizations listed under <br /> "General Information" and "Membership". Each WDB member is appointed to serve a two-year term. Upon <br /> approval by the county commissioners, individuals may be reappointed. <br /> TERM <br /> NAME REPRESENTING EXPIRES ATTENDANCE (Last 6 meetings) <br /> Dr. Carol Spalding Education 06/30/2017 Present — 4 Proxies - 2 <br /> Chris Cote Organized Labor 06/30/2017 Present— 5 Proxies — 1 <br /> Tracie Brunt Private Sector 06/30/2018 Present — 5 Proxies - 1 <br /> Milton Chicas Private Sector 06/30/2018 Present — 4 Proxies — 2 <br /> SPECIFIC REQUESTS <br /> Please obtain nominations (unless reappointments are requested) and appoint two (2) individuals to fill the <br /> terms of July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2019. Nominations and appointments to fill the category of Education and <br /> Organized Labor are requested. <br /> Dr. Carol Spalding (Rowan-Cabarrus Community College) is eligible for reappointment as an Education <br /> representative. She has participated in the Board's annual strategic planning session and is an excellent Board <br /> member representing Cabarrus County. Dr. Spalding has agreed to be reappointed for another 2-year term if <br /> approved. <br /> The Centralina WDB requests that DR. CAROL SPALDING be <br /> reappointed as an EDUCATION representative for Cabarrus County <br /> Mr. Chris Cote (American Airlines-International Association of Machinists)has requested to step down <br /> from the Board after many years of excellent service. To maintain federally mandated requirements for <br /> business representation on the Board, we request appointment of a new representative from Organized Labor. <br /> The Centralina WDB requests the nomination of eligible individuals for <br /> appointment as an ORGANIZED LABOR representative for Cabarrus <br /> County <br /> If an individual does not wish to be reappointed to the WDB or the County chooses not to reappoint,please <br /> obtain necessary nominations for appointments.
