CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> 1792 <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> JULY 1712017 <br /> 6:30 P.M. <br /> AGENDA CATEGORY: <br /> Consent Agenda <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Active Living and Parks - FY 2018 Matching Incentive Grant Requests <br /> BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> Active Living and Parks (ALP) has a Matching Incentive Grant Program that <br /> provides seed money for civic, community and school groups to construct, <br /> improve or acquire recreational and park facilities in Cabarrus County. The <br /> grants will fund up to 50% of a project. <br /> The Active Living and Parks Commission reviewed two requests totaling <br /> $9,843.00 at their June 15, 2017 meeting. The Commission unanimously <br /> recommended awarding these community projects in full. The program <br /> guidelines allow for a second phase of applications and funding to take place <br /> in October. If both of the recommended grants are awarded in the first phase, <br /> there will be $65,157 left for the second phase.
