CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> 1792 <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> AUGUST 21 , 2017 <br /> 6:30 P.M. <br /> AGENDA CATEGORY: <br /> New Business <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Planning and Development Department - Proposed Text Amendment to <br /> Chapter 7 TEXT2017-00005 - Public Hearing 6:30 P.M. <br /> BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> Proposed text amendments to the Cabarrus County Development <br /> Ordinance are attached. The proposed changes relate to the following: <br /> TEXT2017-00005 Chapter 7, Performance Based Standards, #2, <br /> Accessory Building, Accessory Dwelling and Swimming Pools Accessory <br /> to Single Family Residential. The proposed change is to remove the <br /> percent of accessory structures allowed based on lot size. <br /> The proposed changes allow additional flexibility for existing non- <br /> conforming lots. The proposed changes will also provide improved <br /> consistency for structural coverage reference by using the zoning district <br /> for permitting as the standard. <br /> Deletions are in strikethrough text. Additions and corrections are in red <br /> text. <br /> The Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously (9-0) at the July <br /> 11 , 2017, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting to forward the <br /> proposed amendment to the Board of Commissioners for final <br /> consideration. The Board of Commissioners will need to hold a public <br /> hearing to receive input on the proposed amendment. <br /> REQUESTED ACTION: <br /> Hold a public hearing. <br /> G-2 Page 222 <br />
