During this review, staff discovered an <br />item and is proposing it to the Board of Commissioners for update. <br />Staff recommends revising the method used to calculate the cost of <br />demolition permits. The current adopted fee is based on square footage <br />of the structure to be demolished with fees starting at $100 and going up <br />to $750. For more consistency and proper pricing for service provided, <br />staff recommends using the cost of the project just as we do for new <br />construction as found in Schedule A, rather than square footage for the <br />demolition costs as found in Schedule C. This will reduce the costs of <br />those permits.
