1792 <br />\ I <br />CABARRUS COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY MONTH <br />WHEREAS, the Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus County was founded to <br />promote awareness of animals in need of help; and <br />WHEREAS, the Humane Society educates the community about animal population control <br />and responsible pet care, encouraging pet owners to spay and neuter their pets; and <br />WHEREAS, the Humane Society advocates for kind and compassionate care of animals, <br />and investigates cases of neglect and cruelty; and <br />WHEREAS, the Humane Society provides valuable care by increasing animal adoptions, <br />reducing euthanasia rates, and preventing the spread of disease by proactive vaccinations; and <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County partnered with the Humane Society for operation of the <br />Cabarrus County Animal Shelter from June 2012 until January 2016, and recognize the operations <br />were supported by devoted staff and loyal volunteers; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />do hereby proclaim February 2016, as <br />"Humane Society Month" <br />in Cabarrus County in recognition of the valuable contributions of the Humane Society of <br />Concord and Greater Cabarrus County, and out of respect for the leadership of Judy Sims and all <br />Humane Society staff and volunteers, who continue to contribute to our community, and to the <br />animals who live alongside us. <br />Adopted this the 15 day of February, 2016. <br />Stephen M.
