CABARRUS COUNTY <br />w r; <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 21, 2016 <br />i �'y�J,rJJl� ll <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Human Resources - Employee Benefits Renewal FY 2016 -2017 <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />County staff presented two health plan options for Cabarrus County <br />employees in FY 2017. The two options include an Open Access Plan <br />(OAP) paired with a health reimbursement account and a Consumer <br />Driven Plan (CDP) paired with a health savings account. Under both <br />plans, employees will share in the cost of insurance and participate in the <br />consumerism of health care costs. To maintain the health insurance plan <br />design and premium structure, the cost will increase from $7,692.00 per <br />employee per month to $7,722 per employee per year. <br />Staff also presented a restructured non - tobacco use premium discount <br />program to remain compliant with NC General Statutes, as well as <br />proposed a fee structure for the Employee Health and Wellness Center <br />due to IRS requirements for the payment of non - preventative care <br />services. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the FY 2016 -2017 benefits renewal as presented. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Johanna Ray, Health and Wellness Manager <br />Lundee Covington, Human Resources Director <br />F -6 Page 73 <br />
