Organization; Member or designee of the CMC- NorthEast Medical Center <br />Board of Trustees; and three members from the general public not <br />affiliated with the above organizations, but recommended by the nominees <br />of those organizations. <br />REGION F AGING ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />This committee advises the Centralina Council of Governments (COG) <br />staff and COG Board on area plans for the aging within the nine - county <br />region. County Commissioners appoint three members and one alternate <br />to the 26- member regional committee. The appointments are for terms of <br />two years except for the alternate appointment, which is a one -year term. <br />TOURISM AUTHORITY <br />This 9- member board is charged with the development of tourism, tourist - <br />related events, facilities and other activities that serve to increase the <br />amount of tourism in the County. The Board of Commissioners appoints <br />membership as follows: Three members, including a County <br />Commissioner and /or County Manager; three members from <br />recommendations submitted by the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority; <br />and three members from recommendations submitted by the Cabarrus <br />Regional Chamber of Commerce. Appointments are for terms of three <br />years. <br />TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY BOARD <br />This board works to advance coordination between the County and human <br />service agencies, to monitor transportation services and to advise the <br />Board on issues related to human service transportation policy matters. <br />Members include representatives from Human Services, Cabarrus Health <br />Alliance, Cabarrus EMS, L.I.F.E. Center, Cabarrus Workshop, Healthy <br />Cabarrus, Head Start, Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions and a <br />representative of the visually impaired in the county. <br />YOUTH COMMISSION <br />The purpose of the Youth Council is to provide teens in the community an <br />opportunity to be active citizens. Through experiences and education, <br />youth will be empowered in the community. The Youth Council will <br />expose teens to county government, allow teens an opportunity to discuss <br />issues, and interact with county commissioners and employees through <br />youth -adult partnerships. <br />Attachment number 1 \n <br />1 -6 Page 146 <br />
