They can also provide
technical assistance to the Land Manager, Training Coordinator and the participants in
the Farmer -in- Training Program. This includes regular meetings with Lomax staff and
FITs.
In 2015 and 2016 the Master Gardeners of Cabarrus County used the Lomax greenhouse
to grow plants, the sales of which support grants to local schools and other organizations
that want to start gardens. This is a great example of the interconnectedness of the
Lomax Farm and organizations within the community who benefit from use of the farm.
• Founding partner of Elma C.
Lomax Incubator Farm
• One -on -one technical assistance
• Focused learning opportunities
• Master Gardener Program
assistance
• Plant sales supporting local
school gardens
• https://cabarrus.ces.ncsu.edu/
2s
G -6 Page 200
