The North Carolina Department <br />of Health and Human Services policy requires that the local department <br />conduct outreach that will connect and serve those eligible for and in need <br />of assistance with energy needs. The department will identify, coordinate <br />with and provide information to other agencies, organizations and groups <br />that can assist with outreach activities, and ensure program access to <br />priority groups. <br />The Low Income Energy Assistance Program priority groups are as <br />follows: Elderly population age 60 and above and disabled persons <br />receiving services through the Division of Aging and Adult Services. The <br />priority eligibility period is December 1 -31.
