Robert J. Carney, Jr. Hired as the new Cabarrus EDC's Executive Director <br />The Board of Directors of the Cabarrus County Economic Development Corporation <br />announced the appointment of Robert (Robby) J. Carney, Jr. as Executive <br />Director effective August 1st. <br />Carney has been the Executive Director of the Mooresville -South Iredell Economic <br />Development Corporation since 2010. In his role as the Executive Director of the <br />Mooresville -South Iredell Economic Development Corporation, Carney announced <br />over $3.2 billion in new projects and created over 8,000 new jobs. Prior to being <br />named the Executive Director of the Mooresville -South Iredell Economic <br />Development Corporation, he was the Existing Industry and Marketing Manager. <br />Robert J. Carney is a native of Hickory, NC and graduated from East Carolina <br />University in 2004 with a degree in Business Administration. He currently serves as <br />the Charlotte Regional Partnership EDAC Chairman and was recognized by the <br />Charlotte Business Journal as the youngest economic development leader in the Charlotte Region. <br />Incentives Approved for ISE Enterprises, Inc. Expansion <br />Cabarrus County and the City of Kannapolis has approved an economic development incentive grant to ISE <br />Enterprises, Inc. for investment in a 30,000 square foot facility at 840 Biscayne Drive, Kannapolis. The company <br />has been in Kannapolis since 2004. The expansion is a result of two companies, Kannapolis -based ECS Enterprises, <br />Inc. and Charlotte -based International Display Systems, merging. The company produces display fixtures as well as <br />other plastics fabrication and CNC machining. The new facility will contain acrylic fabrication and packaging <br />operations, with a total investment of $2.75 million ($2.4 million in real estate and $350,000 in equipment). The <br />company will retain some operations in their current 23,500 square foot facility at 1151 Biscayne Drive in <br />Kannapolis.
