Yokohama Tire Corporation Targets Concord for Technical Development Center Yokohama Tire Corporation's plans to establish a Technical Development Center in Concord will create up to 56 jobs and invest nearly $2.7 million into the local economy. According to a release issued by Gov. Pat McCrory's office, the Japan -based global manufacturing and sales company of premium tires will employ engineers, technicians, management staff and others at the Technical Development Center. "After extensive research for the ideal location to consolidate our R &D activities, we found North Carolina to have the perfect combination of a high - quality workforce and close proximity to a major international airport," said Tetsuya Kuze, vice president of Yokohama Corporation of North America (YCNA). YCNA oversees all Yokohama - related operations in North America including sales and marketing, manufacturing, technical development, long -term corporate planning and investment. Kuze added that Yokohama has yet to finalize the Technical Center's exact permanent location.
