CABARRUS COUNTY <br />w r; <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 19, 2016 <br />i �'y�J,rJJl� ll <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />BOC - NCACC Solicitation of County Legislative Goals <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Every two years, North Carolina Association of County Commissioners <br />( NCACC) members engage in a process to determine the legislative goals <br />that are in the best interest of counties. The NCACC goals- setting process <br />begins in August of even - numbered years and consists of five stages: <br />beginning with the solicitation of county proposals and ending with the <br />adoption of the legislative agenda at the Legislative Goals Conference. <br />The submission deadline for legislative goals is September 23, and goals <br />submitted by or before the deadline will be referred to a steering <br />committee for review and consideration. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the 2016 -17 proposed legislative goals for submission <br />to the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />No <br />F -2 Page 56 <br />
