CABARRUS COUNTY <br />w r; <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 17, 2016 <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />CCS - Funding Request for New High School Architectural Fees and Site <br />Analysis for Replacement Elementary School <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) Board of Education requests <br />funding for two projects: $306,000 for architectural fees for the first phase <br />of the new high school design including traffic study (inclusive of both high <br />school and potential location of the performance learning center), and <br />$30,000 to conduct a site suitability study at the current site of R. Brown <br />McAllister Elementary School. The total funding request is $336,000. <br />Funding for both projects can be covered by the Odell 3 -5 contingency <br />funds that were not used on that project. Additional information regarding <br />this request is attached for review. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the funding request and adopt the associated budget <br />amendments and project ordinances. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />G.
