Employment Numbers Cabarrus County's unemployment rate dropped to 4.3% for September from <br />4.6% in August. Cabarrus currently ranks 13th in North Carolina for the lowest unemployment rate. The <br />statewide unemployment rate is 4.8 %, and the Charlotte- Concord - Gastonia MSA unemployment rate is 4.7 %. <br />Noteworthy News & Events <br />• The EDC team celebrated Manufacturing Day on <br />October 7th at Jay M. Robison High School. Over <br />250 students were able to listen to presentations <br />from Corning, Inc. and Cabarrus Economic <br />Development. <br />The EDC recently released five videos that will be <br />used in our marketing efforts, as well as for <br />presentations when we have client visits. These <br />videos highlight various aspects of economic <br />development and the role they play in our <br />county. Topics in the videos include quality of <br />life, transportation and infrastructure, location <br />and opportunities, workforce and education, and <br />an overview video including all of the topics in one. Cabarrus Economic Development wants to thank <br />everyone who participated in the videos. We encourage you to use these videos if they align with your <br />industry.
