CABARRUS COUNTY <br />w r; <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 21, 2016 <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />EMS - Recognition of NCOEMS Regional Competition Win <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) paramedic <br />team of Captains Justin Brines and Will Cannon won the regional prelims <br />for the 2016 North Carolina Office of EMS ( NCOEMS) State Paramedic <br />Competition on July 15 in Dallas, North Carolina. <br />As winners, Brines and Cannon advanced to the NC State Paramedic <br />Competition in Greensboro in October. They represented Cabarrus <br />County extremely well in a closely contested event. <br />Brines, a specialty services supervisor, has 18 years of service with EMS <br />and Cannon, a shift supervisor, has 11 years of service EMS experience. <br />Both are Nationally Registered Paramedics. <br />"Their victory is a statement of the quality of paramedics working in the <br />county of Cabarrus and the level of care delivered to the citizens each <br />day," said Cabarrus County EMS Director Alan Thompson.
