CABARRUS COUNTY <br />* <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />1 <br />JANUA <br />• P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />DHS - Adoption Services Fee Schedule <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Under the authority of NCGS 48- 3- 304(a) and NCGS 48- 2- 5049(a), the <br />Department can assess fees for specific adoption services when provided <br />in private cases or cases outside the scope of Cabarrus DHS mandated <br />practice. The proposed fee schedule establishes fees for both family and <br />independent private adoptions and covers the costs of providing the pre - <br />placement assessment, court report, and any required monitoring. <br />An internal work group including the Director, Administrator, and DHS <br />adoption staff developed the proposed fee schedule based on reasonable <br />charges and comparative policies with surrounding counties.
