They are <br />requested in order to keep up with the "next -day" demand for inspections of construction in Cabarrus <br />County. Inspections are mandated by the State of NC to ensure that life- safety requirements are <br />enforced in the construction of buildings. The local construction industry has made it clear to the <br />county that next -day inspections are needed to be able to stay on cost and schedule. These positions <br />would be paid for by expected revenue from building permits.
