CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 16, 2015 <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning and Development - Soil and Water Conservation District - <br />Recognition of Contestants in the NCASWCD Annual Conservation <br />Education Competition <br />Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District has co- sponsored <br />conservation education contests with the North Carolina Association of <br />Soil and Water Conversation Districts throughout most of its 50 years of <br />existence as a single- county district. The 2014 -2015 topic was "Wetlands <br />are Wonderful ". The local conservation poster and slideshow contests <br />awards ceremony and reception was held February 10, 2015. Additionally, <br />the regional competitions for these two events, as well as essay and <br />public speaking, were held on March 14. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Recognize Dennis Testerman and Hannah Hursey to announce <br />contestants. <br />Congratulate contestants on their achievements and acknowledge family <br />members and school personnel for their support. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Dennis Testerman, Senior Resource Conservation Specialist <br />C -3 Page 72 <br />
