Charlotte Business Journal— Advanced <br />Manufacturing Awards <br />The Charlotte Business Journal's Advanced Manufacturing Awards Luncheon <br />and Expo was held on Wednesday, February 25th at Embassy Suites. Cabarrus <br />EDC participated in the Expo that was held prior to the awards luncheon. <br />Award winners included: <br />• Best Collaboration: Siemens Charlotte Energy Hub & UNC Charlotte's Ener <br />gy Production and Infrastructure Center and Bosch Rexroth Partnership <br />with Olympic Community Schools <br />• Corporate Leadership: McCreary Modern Inc. <br />• Emerging Leader: Shawn Campion, Integro Technologies Corporation <br />• Student Leadership: Rebeca Espinal <br />Keynote speaker for the luncheon was Jay Williams, U.S. Assistant Secretary of <br />Commerce for Economic Development. Mr. Williams talked about the presi- <br />dent's agenda for promoting innovation as businesses compete in a global <br />economy. <br />Cabarrus College of Health Sciences Ranked Among Top 10 Colleges and Universities in North Carolina <br />Carolinas HealthCare System's Cabarrus College of Health Sciences has been ranked one of the top 10 colleges and universities in North Carolina <br />by a national ranking system of more than 2,000 four -year institutions. College Factual ranked Cabarrus College No. 8 out of 51 total colleges <br />and universities in the state. <br />Located on the campus of Carolinas Medical Center- NorthEast, Cabarrus College has 450 full- and part -time students earning associate, bache- <br />lor and master's degrees in programs such as nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy technology, medical assisting, medical imaging and surgi- <br />cal technology. The college offers courses on- campus and through distance education, as well as diplomas, certificates and continuing educa- <br />tion. <br />"We are honored to receive this recognition, an affirmation of our commitment to the success of our students," said Dianne Snyder, DHA, RN, <br />chancellor of Cabarrus College of Health Sciences.
