TABLED TO JULY <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />�THc�RQr MAY 18 20 <br />��i�li.I11J� <br />1 P .M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning and Development - Soil and Water Conservation District - <br />Recognition of State Winners in Conservation Education Contests <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />This year, nineteen contestants qualified at local and regional <br />competitions to participate in annual conservation education contests <br />sponsored by Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District and the N. C. <br />Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts. <br />Winning contestants and /or teams at the state level are present this <br />evening to be recognized for their accomplishments. The 2014 -2015 <br />conservation education contest topic was "Wetlands are Wonderful!" <br />Through essays, posters, slide shows and speeches, students educated <br />themselves, their schools and their communities about the many benefits <br />wetlands provide. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Recognize Dennis Testerman and Hannah Hursey to announce <br />contestants. <br />Congratulate contestants on their achievements and acknowledge family <br />members and school personnel for their support. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />C -3 Page 46 <br />
