Welcome LeeAnn Nixon to Cabarrus Chamber and EDC! LeeAnn Nixon is joining the Cabarrus Economic Development staff from the Surry County Economic Development Partnership. As the former Vice President of Existing Business Ser- vices, she was responsible for maintaining existing industry relationships, facilitating incentive projects with local and state government, interacting with resource partners, and securing grant opportunities. Ms. Nixon has also worked closely with The Greater Mount Airy and �. Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce. She has served on many committees within Surry, most recently serving as President of the Surry County Human Resources Association. Prior to her work in Economic Development LeeAnn's experience ranges from former entrepreneurial activity, account management at SIS, Inc., and sales at Frontier Natural Gas. LeeAnn is nearing completion of her Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Project Management from Liberty University. She also is currently a North Carolina Real Estate Broker, member of the National Association of Realtors, member of NC Economic Development and International Economic Development Council. We are so excited to have her join the EDC and the Chamber as part of our TEAM! As our new Existing Industry Specialist, LeeAnn will be responsible for building relationships with all of our current companies and helping them grow and expand. She will be reaching out to get involved in many of our new efforts like the Manufacturing Initia- tive, Female Marketing Initiative for Non - Traditional jobs, and Industrial Council. Pepsi Bottling Ventures Will Build New Facility in Harrisburg: Pepsi Bottling Ventures will invest over $12.5 million in constructing a new 200,000 square -foot sales and distribution facility located on 32 acres off highway 49 in the Town of Harrisburg. The new operation will allow Pepsi Bottling Ventures to retain more than 200 current jobs and consolidate both the Charlotte (South Boulevard) location, as well as the Midland, NC location into a single facility. It is anticipated that all employees from both locations will transfer to the new facility upon completion, tentatively scheduled for June 2016. Read more.... Economic Development Partnership of NC Visits Cabarrus: On April 29th three Project Managers from EDPNC and one staff member of NC DENR toured Cabarrus to become more familiar with our available inventory for potential client projects. While they were in the area we familiarized them with our county and various municipalities, reviewed our target industry list and visited 10 sites and 3 buildings. This was an excellent opportunity to strengthen our relationship with key members of EDPNC.
