Memorandum of Understanding and Educational Clinical Agreement <br />between <br />Cabarrus County Board of Education <br />and <br />Cabarrus County EMS <br />The purpose of this agreement is to provide enhanced career and technical education <br />opportunities to provide well trained individuals for careers in emergency medical services. Let <br />this agreement between Cabarrus County EMS ( CCEMS) and Cabarrus County Board of <br />Education ( CCBOE) serve as an agreement for students of Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) to <br />gain necessary educational and clinical experiences associated with the emergency medical <br />services field. This memorandum of understanding is to identify the roles of this collaborative <br />relationship as they relate to providing high school students the opportunity to participate in <br />Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training. <br />This agreement will remain in effect annually unless terminated after yearly review by either <br />entity with a thirty (30) day written notice. In consideration of the obligations and covenants set <br />forth herein, CCEMS and CCBOE do hereby enter into this agreement and set forth the terms <br />upon which they shall conduct affairs: <br />Mutual Responsibilities <br />• Both parties shall mutually agree to the services provide, scheduling of students, and <br />responsibilities. <br />• Both parties shall develop educational experiences based on the scope of practice <br />guidelines and educational objectives approved by the North Carolina Office of EMS <br />( NCOEMS). <br />• Both parties shall appoint a representative, for CCEMS is shall by the EMS Liaison and <br />for CCS it shall be the EMT Training Program Coordinator ( EMTTPC). <br />• All activities by CCS students must be carried out under the direct supervision of the <br />EMTTPC or CCEMS employee at or above the level of credential the student is <br />obtaining. <br />• Both parties shall keep the other informed of changes in the curriculum, the program, and <br />staff, which may affect the educational experience. <br />• Only students meeting state requirements for testing shall be scheduled for NCOEMS <br />credentialing examinations. <br />• Only students who have completed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid <br />training will be permitted to complete clinical rotations. <br />• Both parties agree not to discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, <br />creed, gender, national origin, or physical handicap. <br />• Liability of students and CCS employees remains the responsibility of CCS and liability <br />of CCEMS employees remains the responsibility of Cabarrus County. <br />• CCBOE and CCEMS agree that in accordance with the Federal Educational Rights and <br />Privacy Act (20 U.S.C. 1232g et seq. and 34 C.F.R Part 99) and Section 115C -402 of the <br />North Carolina General Statutes, CCEMS and its employees acting in the course of their <br />Attachment number 1 <br />F -4 Page 108 <br />
