• CCEMS shall approve or disapprove schedules submitted to ensure the CHS student <br />schedule for clinical will have an opportunity for meaningful educational experience. <br />• CCEMS shall designate approved preceptors for clinical experiences. CCEMS shall have <br />personnel available to precept with the student at or above the level of credential the <br />student is obtaining. <br />• CCEMS shall provide the premises, resources, conference space, expendable supplies, <br />and equipment necessary for the CCS student's clinical educational experience. <br />• CCEMS Director will inform the staff of the goals, purpose, and philosophy of the CCS <br />program and encourage, support, and monitor clinical experience. <br />• CCEMS has the right to exclude any student or instructor from the clinical experience <br />should CCEMS determine the individual is not performing satisfactorily, is interfering <br />with operations, violating patient privacy (HIPAA) guidelines, or fails to exhibit <br />professional conduct. Should exclusion be warranted, CCEMS will notify CCS EMTTPC <br />of the exclusion and circumstances surrounding the decision. <br />• CCEMS will provide any necessary orientation materials and policies. <br />• CCEMS will maintain responsibility for patient care while cooperating with CCS in <br />making selected learning experiences available to students. <br />• CCEMS shall make available any skill appropriate to the educational and credentialing <br />needs as required by NCOEMS with skills performance being permitted at the discretion <br />of the preceptor. Ability to perform skills will be directed by CCEMS and it is understood <br />by CCS some skills will be strictly "observation only" either by policy, preceptor <br />preference, medical director discretion, or at the patient's request. <br />• CCEMS will conduct annual inspections of CCS patient moving equipment, supplies, and <br />training equipment with written recommendations provided to CCS EMTTPC. <br />• CCEMS will provide EMS career information material to CCS students and career fairs. <br />• CCEMS will provide EMS Explorer program information to CCS students and career <br />fairs. <br />• CCEMS will make available additional instructors and preceptors to assist CCS <br />EMTTPC when needed. <br />Student Responsibilities <br />• Develop familiarity with CCEMS internship guidelines <br />• Be current on childhood vaccinations, receive or decline hepatitis B (HBV) vaccine, <br />receive tuberculosis testing (TB) within 12 months of clinical date, and be current with <br />influenza vaccination if clinical is performed during the established flu season. <br />• Know the lines of authority and communication in CCEMS and CCS. <br />• Meet all health and academic requirements to provide standard of care. <br />• Maintain high standards of professional conduct and understand seriousness of <br />emergency medical services ... a profession of saving lives. <br />• Attend educational and clinical rotations as scheduled. <br />• Report to clinical rotations at scheduled time in proper uniform and personal hygiene. <br />• If clinical absence is necessary, the student will inform by phone the EMTTPC within <br />one hour of scheduled clinical time start. <br />• Assure documentation is completed for skills performance and time documentation. <br />• Share the responsibility of patient safety and standard of care acceptable to CCEMS. <br />Attachment number 1 <br />F -4 Page 110 <br />
