CABARRUS COUNTY <br />* <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 20 2015 <br />1 <br />�I3 CARS 1�1�� <br />• P .M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning and Development - Soil and Water Conservation District - <br />Request for Approval to Pursue Green Tool Box Grant and Resolution <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District would like to take the lead <br />on submitting a Partners for Growth pre - application to the North Carolina <br />Wildlife Resources Commission. This grant can provide up to $10,000 in <br />funding to update county and municipal land use plans and planning <br />ordinances to incorporate green growth tools. Municipalities in Cabarrus <br />County are being invited to participate in the initiative. Projects must <br />provide in -kind, non - federal match and those that can provide 25 percent <br />to 50 percent in -kind match from non - federal sources are preferred. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve grant application contingent upon sufficient in -kind <br />match being provided by participating partners and to approve the <br />resolution supporting the protection of Cabarrus County's Significant <br />Natural Heritage Areas. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Dennis Testerman, Senior Conservation Specialist <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />No <br />F -6 Page 92 <br />
