CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 17, 2015 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Sheriff's Office - New Radio Consoles for Sheriff's Office Communications <br />Back -up Center <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Sheriff's Office currently has a back -up communications center <br />located at the Department of Human Services. This center is maintained <br />in case of failure at the main communications center located at the <br />Sheriff's Office. At this time, the back -up center only has mobile radios for <br />use by the telecommunicators with no paging capabilities. <br />New consoles would give the capability to page /dispatch Law <br />Enforcement, EMS, and Fire to emergency calls in the same way it is <br />done from the main communications center. The number of consoles <br />needed for the back -up site is four.
