F' 1792 <br />t <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE <br />CABARRUS COUNTY ANIMAL PROTECTION ADVISORY BOARD <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners is concerned with the health and welfare of all <br />animals throughout the county, especially abandoned and stray cats and dogs; and <br />WHEREAS, a contract exists between Cabarrus County and the Humane Society of Concord <br />and Greater Cabarrus County. This contract requires the creation of an advisory board to <br />review the operational and adoption procedures of the shelter and to make recommendations to <br />the County and the Humane Society, should they deem necessary; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of such an advisory board will be to serve as a resource for mitigating <br />challenges and a sounding board for new ideas, and will not be supervisory in nature; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners hereby <br />establishes the Cabarrus County Animal Protection Advisory Board, providing for a five <br />member board with staggered terms among its initial membership and awaiting approval of its <br />bylaws at a later date. <br />Adopted this 20th day of July, 2015. <br />Stephen M.
