Cabarrus County Transportation Services <br />Title VI Plan: <br />Cabarrus County has adopted the Title VI Plan to insure compliance with mandated <br />federal and state requirements. The plan shall serve as a guide to develop procedures <br />related to Title VI, and to insure compliance with carrying out the procedures. Cabarrus <br />County reserves the right to amend this plan or any established procedures at any time in <br />order to meet compliance requirements. <br />The Transportation Director shall serve as the Civil Rights/EO Coordinator for the transit <br />system. <br />Annual Title VI Certification and Assurances: <br />Cabarrus County shall submit their annual Title VI assurances upon request as a part of <br />the NCDOT/CTP grant application. Cabarrus County being a sub - recipient of FTA <br />funding will submit the required assurances to the NCDOT /PTD who serves as the <br />recipient. <br />Title VI Complaint Procedures: <br />All personnel will receive training related to the Title VI Policy Statement. If there are <br />complaints related to a possible violation of the Title VI Policy, personnel will be asked <br />to forward those complaints to the CCTS Civil Rights /EO Coordinator for investigation. <br />The Coordinator will prepare and maintain a list of any active investigations, and include <br />the following information: <br />• The date the investigation, lawsuit, or complaint was filed; <br />• A surnmary of the allegations; <br />• The status of the investigation, lawsuit, or complaint; <br />• Actions taken by CCTS in response to the investigation, lawsuit, or complaint. <br />Requirement to notify beneficiaries of protection under Title VI: <br />CCTS shall be cognizant of the need to disseminate the information to the public through <br />all available means. Information shall include the following: <br />• A statement that the system operates programs without regards to race, color, <br />national origin, age, gender, and disability; <br />• Procedures that members of the general public should follow in order to request <br />additional information on our nondiscrimination obligations; <br />• Procedures that members of the general public should follow in order to file a <br />discrimination complaint against the system. <br />Information shall be disseminated through brochures, flyers, group meetings, published <br />notices, or other means as detennined to be appropriate.
