CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARDS, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS AND AUTHORITIES <br />The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners makes appointments to a number <br />of boards, committees, commissions and authorities. All citizens of Cabarrus <br />County are encouraged to volunteer to serve on these boards /committees. To <br />obtain an application for appointment or for more information, please contact <br />Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board, at the Governmental Center, 65 Church Street, <br />SE, Concord, or call (704) 920 -2109. The application may also be downloaded <br />from the County's website at www.cabarruscounty.us <br />A listing of the boards /committees is as follows: <br />ADULT CARE HOME COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />This committee seeks to maintain the intent of the Adult Care Home <br />Residents Bill of Rights and to promote community involvement with the <br />homes (homes for the aged, family care homes and homes for <br />developmentally disabled adults). Members cannot be employed by an <br />adult care home nor have any financial interest, directly or indirectly, in an <br />adult care home. Immediate family of an adult care home resident in <br />Cabarrus County cannot serve on the committee. Initial appointment is for <br />a term of one year with successive appointments of three -year terms. <br />CONCORD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />The Commission guides, reviews and regulates land developments within <br />and around the boundaries of the City of Concord. The County <br />Commissioners appoint one member who resides in Concord's <br />extraterritorial jurisdiction area for a term of three years. <br />HOME AND COMMUNITY CARE BLOCK GRANT ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />This advisory committee assists the Department of Aging with the <br />development of the County Aging Funding Plan through the Home and <br />Community Care Block Grant for Older Adults. The committee is <br />composed of potential public and private providers of aging services, <br />elected county officials, older adults and representatives of other aging <br />interests in the county. <br />HUMAN SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD <br />This board is appointed by the Board of Commissioners to advocate, <br />advise and consult regarding services within the Department of Human <br />Services.
