Crabtree <br />Director of Business Operations <br />Wi11.Crabtree @kcs.k12.nc.us <br />From: Dr. Pamela Cain, Superintendent - po <br />Will Crabtree, Director of Business Operations L <br />Re: Request to Amend Budget for Welding Program <br />We would like to request an additional $150,000 to the existing budget for the A.L. <br />Brown welding program. This would bring the total budget to $250,000 for the <br />project. The North Carolina Department of Insurance, Cabarrus County Building <br />Inspector, and the Kannapolis City Fire Department have reviewed the drawings and <br />have required a sprinkler system, two exits, electrical system upgrades and HVAC <br />system upgrades. These additions have increased the budget to $250,000 based on <br />informal bids by an outside general contractor. The welding program is very <br />important to the students of A.L. Brown High School and to the citizens of Cabarrus <br />County as it will provide much needed training for jobs within the County and help <br />boost economic development in the region.
