CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />�rRCA'ia1 JANUA <br />• P .M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />County Manager - Update to Interlocal Agreement for the Establishment <br />of the Regional Radio Advisory Council <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cabarrus County is a member in a "shared" regional radio system <br />maintained by the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. This <br />regional system allows the County to benefit from enhanced equipment, <br />services and coverage. The Mecklenburg County Board of <br />Commissioners and the Charlotte City Council recently adopted an update <br />to our interlocal agreement, thereby establishing the Regional Radio <br />Advisory Council, along with its charter and bylaws. The next step is for <br />the updated agreement to be approved by Union and Cabarrus Counties. <br />The updated interlocal agreement and related resolutions have been <br />attached for your review. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to adopt the Resolution to Approve and Ratify an Interlocal <br />Agreement for Regional Radio System Governance By and Among the <br />City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and Other Users of the Regional <br />Radio System; and in so doing, to approve the updated language of the <br />interlocal agreement. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Mike Downs, County Manager <br />F -5 Page 72 <br />
