CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />�rRCA'ia1 JANUA <br />• P .M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Human Services - DSS - 2014 -2015 Community Development Block <br />Grant Public Service Activities Request <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Department of Human Services is seeking approval to submit an <br />application for the 2014 -15 Community Development Block Grant Public <br />Service Activities. The purpose of this grant is to fund activities that <br />benefit low and moderate - income residents of the City of Kannapolis. The <br />Department is seeking these funds to enhance services at the Kannapolis <br />Congregate Nutrition Site which serves the elderly population of the City <br />of Kannapolis. These services will include: health care, education, mental <br />health and recreation as well as improving the community facility. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to authorize the grant application submission. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Ben Rose, Human Services Director <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />No <br />COUNTY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS /COMMENTS: <br />This item was approved by the Board for inclusion on the Agenda as a <br />Consent item. <br />F -7 Page 109 <br />
