CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />�r�'n o i--ionv� W - <br />4 1 <br />1 <br />1 P .M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning and Development - Soil & Water Conservation District - <br />Application to the Federal Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Conservation District wishes to apply for Federal Farm and Ranch <br />Lands Protection Program funds to match one or more state Agricultural <br />Development and Farmland Protection Program Trust Fund grants <br />previously awarded to the District, up to a maximum of $806,225. The <br />District was previously awarded $350,000 in federal matching funds to <br />purchase a permanent agricultural conservation easement on Porter <br />Farms. The landowners are exploring options to combine the acreage for <br />which state farmland protection funds have already been contracted into a <br />new application for federal matching funds.
