CABARRUS COUNTY <br />'� # 1110, <br />i <br />f <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />February 2014 <br />Tax Collection- Advertisement of 2013 Delinquent Taxes that are liens on real property <br />BRIEF SUMMARY <br />NC GS 105 -369 requires counties to report to the governing board the amount of unpaid taxes <br />for the current year 2013 that are liens on real property (less bankruptcies and appeals) and to <br />set a date for advertisement. <br />2013 Real Estate Taxes - $8,147,294.03 <br />Less: Bankruptcies- (Can Not Advertise) 72,083.13 <br />RTC Appeals -(Can Not Advertise) 753,942.88 <br />TOTAL As of Jan 31, 2014 $7 ,321,268.02 <br />Requested date of advertisement of Tax Liens: March 30, 2014 <br />Teaser ads leading up to the advertisement will appear in the Independent Tribune weekly. The <br />ad will also be posted on the County website. <br />REQUESTED ACTION <br />Motion to approve the report of 2013 outstanding delinquent taxes that are liens on real <br />property.
