Cabarrus Roots is a Business Retention and Expansion Program, a vital component of a commu- <br />nity's economic development strategy. Existing customers are the best and most reliable re- <br />source to gauge and understand the state of the local economy and to identify workforce issues <br />CR&IRRUS and barriers to growth. <br />The goal is to meet face -to -face with executives, owners and key decision makers in a wide array <br />of business and industry. The purpose of these meetings is to gain a better understanding of local <br />business needs and expectations. The EDC accomplishes this through asking questions focused <br />on all aspects of business, including workforce, technology, education, expansion plans, utilities <br />and overall quality of the community. <br />February Visits <br />• <br />lubi <br />Thermal Control Products (Concord) specializes in the custom man- <br />ufacturing of thermal and protective components for various <br />industries including motorsports. On February 19th, Congressman <br />Hudson visited Thermal Control as part of a manufacturing busi- <br />ness tour in the district. <br />Sensory Spectrum (Kannapolis) is a management consulting firm'°. <br />that conducts consumer product testing for industry clients. <br />DataChambers (Kannapolis) specializes in IT and managed services. <br />The groundbreaking for the Kannapolis facility was held Fall 2013. <br />• SeaLife Aquarium's (Concord) ribbon cutting and grand opening <br />was held on February 20th. <br />• Met with two individuals in February to discuss their business plans, provided resource assistance. <br />We'd Love to Visit You & Your Business!
