CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />• P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning & Development (Soil & Water Conservation District) - <br />Stewardship Week Proclamation <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Stewardship Week has been promoted by the National Association of <br />Conservation Districts since 1955, and has been observed by Cabarrus <br />Soil and Water Conservation District since it was created by state statute <br />in 1963. <br />"Dig Deeper -- Mysteries in the Soil" is the theme for the 2014 observance, <br />scheduled for April 27 -May 4. The stewardship concept involves personal <br />and social responsibility, including a duty to learn about and improve <br />natural resources as we use them wisely, leaving a rich legacy for future <br />generations.
