PURPOSE <br />This annex describes the system to protect, control, and care for animals during emergency <br />situations. <br />II. SITUATION AND ASSUMPTIONS <br />A. Situation <br />1. Any emergency situation that threatens humans also threatens both domestic and wild <br />animals. <br />2. It is necessary to provide water, shelter, food, and medical treatment for pets, livestock, <br />and wildlife affected during an emergency situation. <br />3. Relocation, sheltering, and relief efforts for pets and livestock maybe required to protect <br />them. <br />4. Domestic pets will be permitted at Cabarrus County (County) personnel shelter locations. <br />Pet owners are responsible for the care of these animals while they remain at the shelter <br />site. <br />5.
