CABARRUS COUNTY <br />1 4' BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />rRC�,Ra f��4 <br />M AY • <br />• P .M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning and Development - Soil and Water Conservation District - <br />Recognition of Regional and State Winners in Conservation Contests <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Conservation education is one of four strategic priorities for Cabarrus Soil <br />and Water Conservtion District. The District has a long and proud history <br />of conservation education accomplishments. During the District's 50th <br />anniversity year celebration, 3 individual students and 3 teams advanced <br />to state -level conservation contests. In the 23 -year history of the contest, <br />this year was the fourth time a Cabarrus County student has received first <br />place at the state level in the conservation poster contest. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Recognize Sarah Piper, Resource Conservation Coordinator, to introduce <br />regional and state conservation contest winners.
