CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 19 2014 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />Presentation of an Eagle Scout Project <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Aiden Stiles, Eagle Scout Candidate, Troop 128, Epworth United <br />Methodist Church, chose to build a park shaped like a dog bone in the <br />backyard at Ruth's Memorial Shelter (A Humane Society of Concord <br />Facility) for his Eagle Scout project. His budget was approximately <br />$2,500. He landscaped the backyard, and then created a bone shaped <br />rock area. On each end of the rock, he built a bone shaped bench out of <br />concrete. He built a total of four of the bone - shaped benches. <br />Aiden planted a red bud tree in the center of the park area. When the <br />project was completed, Aiden was presented with a plaque, to be <br />positioned in front of the tree, it includes his name, his troop number and <br />the date. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Recognize Aiden Stiles, Eagle Scout Candidate, and commend him for his <br />achievements. <br />Recognize family members in attendance. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />C -4 Page 41 <br />
