Memo
To: Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners
From: Lee Snuggs, E911 Coordinator
CC: File
Date: 4/22/2014
Re: Proposed Street Name Change
• Bonanza Drive was originally one street but at some point was split into two separate sections
that dead end. See attached map.
• This split is causing problems with first - responders locating E911 calls on the section of
Bonanza Drive attached to Wagonwheel Lane.
• Due to public safety concerns, the addresses on the section of Bonanza Drive that continues
to Wagonwheel Lane need to be changed to Wagonwheel Lane.
• The current house numbers would be changed and begin with 7 instead of 5. Existing and
proposed addresses are below:
OWNER CURRENT ADDRESS NEW ADDRESS
STEPHEN A BAKER 5400 BONANZA DRIVE 7400 WAGONWHEEL LANE
RALPH RIDENHOUR JR 5403 BONANZA DRIVE 7403 WAGONWHEEL LANE
COY EUDY 5406 BONANZA DRIVE 7406 WAGONWHEEL LANE
KAREN & JINNY HELTON 5421 BONANZA DRIVE 7421 WAGONWHEEL LANE
DENNIS & BARBARA WILD 5550 BONANZA DRIVE 7550 WAGONWHEEL LANE
NANCY FUNDERBURK 5533 BONANZA DRIVE 7533 WAGONWHEEL LANE
NANCY P BALLARD 5555 BONANZA DRIVE 7555 WAGONWHEEL LANE
• The residents impacted by the change have signed a petition to have the street name changed
and their E911 address updated. The petition is included for your reference.
• You will need to hold a public hearing as part of the process to consider changing the name of
the street.
1
Attachment number 3
G -2 Page 191
