Our May Existing Industry visits included: Finnord Group, CVG— Cabarrus Plastics, DNP, and Royce Apparel. <br />In our Community <br />Staff had the pleasure of joining CEO, Cheryl Crutchfield, on May <br />23rd as she presented to the Entrepreneurship class at Cox Mill <br />High School. Cheryl and husband, Kevin, own and operate Casco <br />Signs. Their company was recently named Cabarrus Regional <br />Chamber's 2013 Small Business of the Year. Cheryl shared with <br />i <br />r <br />i <br />the class the challenges of owning your own business, but also Ok i <br />the awards of being a successful business owner. Casco's facility <br />is located in Concord and they currently have over 40 employees. <br />Casco Signs offers custom design and manufacturing capabilities <br />as well as installation services. <br />I � 0 1 q <br />u t <br />i s <br />The Chamber's Leadership Cabarrus Class of 2014 decided for their class <br />project to renovate the lobby and children's room area at the Communi- <br />ty Free Clinic. The class project included painting, new carpet, and new <br />furniture and lighting fixtures. This project was possible with help from <br />several partners including: Casco Signs, CertaPro Painters, Sherwin Wil- <br />liams, Koala Bear Kare, Cabarrus Meals on Wheels, Lowe's, Target, Cabar- <br />rus EDC, and the Concord High School Art Department. The mission of <br />the Clinic is to help Cabarrus County adults move toward wellness by <br />providing healthcare and pharmacy services. Pictured left is the chil- <br />dren's area with artwork provided by Concord HS art students.
