• Chains or other traction devices (when appropriate) <br />• Disposable gloves <br />a First Aid Kit <br />Driver Suitability Requirements <br />Drivers must be sufficiently proficient in English to be able to communicate with passengers and to <br />prepare required reports and logs. <br />Pursuant to the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, all employers are required to verify when <br />a person is hired that he or she is either a United States citizen or is otherwise authorized to be <br />employed in this country. The term employee includes full -time, part -time, and temporary workers. In <br />response to this concern, the county requires the contractor to certify that no illegal aliens will be hired <br />while performing services for CCTS. This information must be reviewed before any assignments are <br />assigned. <br />Driver should have experience in driving multi passenger vehicles and a good basic knowledge of the <br />service area and are provided with detailed maps of the service area. <br />The drivers of the vehicles for this service shall hold a current Class "C" license, issued by State of <br />North Carolina. If the service is also being operated as a taxi service, the drivers must hold a current <br />taxicab drivers license and shall meet all the requirements of Cabarrus County and/or any local <br />ordinances of surrounding cities or towns. <br />Contractor will obtain Criminal Records Information (CORI) check and statement as to any moving <br />violations as defined by the Registry of Motor Vehicles for all drivers. Drivers must also meet the <br />following minimum criteria to transport CCTS clients: <br />• No more than two moving violations for each year of the last seven years prior to application of <br />this program. <br />• No moving violations within the last 12 months. <br />• If license have ever been suspended, applicant must have five full subsequent years with no <br />violations. <br />• If license has ever been revoked, must have ten subsequent years with no violations. <br />• Under no condition will an applicant be accepted as a driver for this program if he/she has been <br />convicted of a felony and/or has been convicted of a drug or alcohol offense. <br />3 <br />Attachment number 1 <br />F -4 Page 53 <br />
