CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 16 2014 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />Active Living and Parks Department - Recognition of Perdue Farms <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />For the past five years, Perdue Farms has volunteered to do clean -up at <br />Frank Liske Park for their annual work project. Each year, approximately <br />40 -50 employees and family members work from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 <br />noon. They pick up trash and debris from the streams, lake shore, and <br />throughout the park where needed. <br />Approximately 615 hours have been logged by Perdue Volunteers over <br />the last 5 years. Using the calculation that volunteer hours are valued at <br />$21.04 per hour in North Carolina, Perdue Farms has contributed over <br />$12,939.00 dollars to Cabarrus County on this annual project. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Recognize Perdue Farms, their employees and families who have <br />donated their time and effort as a service to the community. <br />Recognize John Rogers, Complex Human Resources Manager and Ciela <br />Vargas, Associate Relations Representative, in attendance to represent <br />Perdue Farms and receive a recognition plaque on behalf of Perdue <br />Farms and its volunteers. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />C -1 Page 21 <br />
