CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 16 2014 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />Active Living and Parks - Recognition of an Eagle Scout Project <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Zach Hagg, Eagle Scout, Troop 704, Roberta United Methodist Church, <br />chose to construct garden plots in a defined area of the community <br />garden at Frank Liske Park for his Eagle Scout Project. <br />Zach provided all materials (donated or purchased through fund raising), <br />organized and led the work staff. The project included 16 5' X 10' raised <br />garden plots. Volunteers from Troop 704, the Scoutmaster, parents and <br />Church Members joined on Saturday, March 8, to help complete the <br />project by assisting with final project tasks and filling the plots with soil. <br />There were 25 volunteers in total, who worked 6 hours each for a total of <br />150 hours valued at $3,156.00. <br />Zach was honored on Saturday, May 24, by the Boy Scouts of America for <br />completing all necessary requirements to become an Eagle Scout. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Recognize Zach Hagg, Eagle Scout, and commend him for his <br />achievements.
