Participants will learn the ten basics of Square Foot Gardening, <br />as well as how to construct a Square Foot Garden box which can be expanded to suit <br />individual gardening needs. <br />Organic Gardening & Worm Farming <br />This class will introduce students to the basic steps of organic gardening and worm <br />composting. Topics for discussion will include the differences between the various types <br />of worms, caring for worms, and tips for starting your own worm farming business. <br />Introduction to Bonsai <br />This course is designed to give participants an introduction to bonsai. After a short <br />lecture and demonstration on style and care aspects, each student will create their very <br />own bonsai from scratch. With guidance from the instructor participants will style, wire, <br />and transplant their newly created bonsai into a bonsai container. Not only will you <br />leave the class with your very own bonsai tree, but the information needed to care for it! <br />Included in the class: plant (garden juniper), bonsai container, wire, and bonsai soil -yet <br />the true value of this class is in the instructions on care and styling! Supplies to bring: <br />Imagination and creativity is a must! You may bring your own shears, but shears will be <br />available. It is also recommended that you bring gardening gloves... we will get dirty <br />hands when repotting, and juniper foliage is sometimes a little prickly. <br />Agripreneur Workshop Series <br />Turn your interest in growing vegetables, fruit, herbs and other crops into a sustainable <br />agricultural -based business. This four -part series will use the REAL (Rural <br />Entrepreneurship through Action Learning) Ag- Entrepreneurship curriculum to teach <br />you how to make money from your harvest.
