Work on <br />these two issues will commence during the 2013 fall semester. <br />Year -Round Hoop House Urban Farming, <br />The goal of this project is explore the use of hoop houses for year -round urban farming. Building <br />on the work being done by Growing Power Inc. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, students and faculty at <br />UNCC will research low - energy, non - fossil fuel dependent methods for extending the growing <br />season in an urban context for a wide variety of crops. A secondary goal is to investigate the <br />feasibility of vertical farming. <br />The budget for this project has not been set, and the fund source has not been identified. Work on <br />these two issues will commence during the 2013 fall semester. <br />In closing, I thank you again for facilitating this opportunity.
