CABARRUS COUNTY <br />1 4' BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />I f <br />SEPTEMBER 15, 2014 <br />• P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning and Development - HOME 2013 -2014 CAPER Report - Public <br />Hearing 6:30 P.M. <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cabarrus County has participated in the Cabarrus /lredell /Rowan HOME <br />Consortium for a number of years. This program provides housing <br />rehabilitation services to low income families with priority given to the <br />elderly and disabled. When a home is rehabilitated under this program, it <br />must be repaired so that it will meet current housing codes and all lead <br />hazards must be abated. Each year, staff is required to produce a CAPER <br />report describing the year's activities and to hold a public hearing. <br />One unit was rehabilitated this year and three more went through the <br />qualification process for a total expenditure for all four projects of $89,674. <br />This equates to 91% of the grant amount.
