CABARRUS COUNTY <br />1 4' BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 20, 2014 <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />ITS - National Cyber Security Awareness Month Proclamation <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The month of October is recognized as National Cyber Security <br />Awareness Month (NCSAM), and was created as a collaborative effort <br />between government and industry to ensure every American has <br />resources they need to stay safer and more secure online. We lead <br />Internet - connected, digital lives. From our desks and homes to on the go, <br />we work, learn and play online. Even when we are not directly connected <br />to the Internet, our critical infrastructurea vast, worldwide connection of <br />computers, data and websites supporting our everyday lives through <br />financial transactions, transportation systems, healthcare records, <br />emergency response systems, personal communications and <br />moreimpacts everyone. The Internet is a shared resource, and securing it <br />is our shared responsibility, and once again, "Our Shared Responsibility" <br />is the theme for National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2014.
