CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 20, 2014 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Sheriff's Office - Award Bid to Hilbish Motor Company for Six Ford Sedan <br />Police Interceptor Vehicles and Four Ford Utility Police Interceptor <br />Vehicles <br />The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office budgeted $270,000 for ten (10) <br />police vehicles for FY 2015. A RFB (Request for Bids) was advertised for <br />a Ford Sedan Police Interceptor Vehicle and a Ford Utility Police Vehicle. <br />The bid from Hilbish Motor Company in Kannapolis, NC was $24,175 for <br />the sedan and $26,605 for the utility. One other bid came in from <br />Cloninger Ford in Hickory, NC and their amounts were $24,460.01 for the <br />sedan and $26,740.01 for the utility. The Sheriff's Office would like to use <br />the bid from Hilbish Ford and purchase six (6) sedans at a cost of <br />$145,050 and four (4) utility vehicles at a cost of $106,420. The total cost <br />for the ten (10) vehicles would be $251,470 <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the bid award with Hilbish Motor Company and <br />authorize the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office to purchase six (6) Ford <br />Sedan Police Interceptor Vehicles and four (4) Ford Utility Vehicles for a <br />total cost of $251,470. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />F -2 Page 51 <br />
